I've heard that is not good to eat before bedtime, but I have also heard that is it okay. What is the truth to this?

The body goes into major recovery phase during the sleep cycle. Eating prior to bed does not serve a purpose unless you have a workout schedule very early in the morning. My advise would be to eat heavy early in the day and taper as the day continues. LEt you body's movement of the day burn calories and have the least or more of a protein intake in the evening.

The general rule of thumb regarding eating before bed is, never eat less than three ours before bed.
During the evening and especially at bedtime the bodies metabolism drastically slows down. During the sleep or resting phase, the bodies is UN-able to metabolize food molecules efficiently. If your bedtimes is 11pm, under no circumstance eat at 9pm. Seven would be more practical in this case.
