My favorite client story is
From Ashley Young: I am a 35-year-old happily married mother to 3! My whole life I have tried to eat right and stay fit. All you mothers out there know how difficult it can be to lose the "baby weight", so I took up running and have been doing it for the past 2 1/2 years. I saw some improvement, however not as much as I really wanted or was hoping for in 2 yrs. time. I thought I was taking care of myself , but I still had a "muffin top". Then one day my friend told me about Marlene. I called her right away and began my 1/2 hour 3 days a week training sessions immediately. I started in May and have been with her since and haven't looked back. Working out with her has improved my strength, my balance, the tone to my muscles (people I don't know compliment me on my arms), my confidence, & my eating habits. Marlene is like an encyclopedia with plethora of information about nutrition. I am not yet where I want to be for my fitness level, but I know Marlene will get me there. She knows my goals, she knows my weaknesses and strengths and she challenges me to do my best & for that I am grateful. Ashley Young :)

Experience, continuing education, caring, and just plain fun are the cornerstones of my approach to fitness & weight management. My diverse background of exercise & martial arts practice, teaching experience, & academic study have contributed to many success stories these areas. My academic work includes psychology, exercise physiology, nutrition, kinesiology, & honor's research in the psychological factors affecting immune function & chronic pain conditions. After an extended academic journey, I graduated with honors from ASU with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (2007). This education prepared me for my certification with the National Strength & Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (continuously certified since 2008). My martial arts training includes Japanese sword (since 1994), bo staff, Shaolin Kenpo karate, & Modern Arnis. I hold rank in each & teaching certificates in both Japanese sword & Modern Arnis, & successfully completed the International Sports Sciences Association's Specialist in Martial Arts Conditioning certification.
